Verstärkt unsere Orga-Teams in Düsseldorf, Aachen und Saarbrücken – Einladung zu Telefonkonferenzen
Für die Regionen Düsseldorf, Aachen und Saarbrücken laden wir Canada Lovers und Canadians herzlich ein, die uns gerne bei der Planung und Organisation von zukünftigen Veranstaltungen unterstützen und unsere Teams verstärken möchten.Hierzu möchten wir jeweils zu einer Telefonkonferenz einladen.
Die Termine sind wie folgt jeweils von 18:30 Uhr bis 19:30 Uhr an folgenden Terminen:

Canada Table Bremen

Die DKG Regionalgruppe Bremen trifft sich zum regelmäßigen Stammtisch jeden dritten Mittwoch im Monat. Zu leckerem Bier und passendem Essen laden wir Mitglieder und alle Kanada-Liebhaber der Region in das Irish Pub Hegarty’s ein. Wir freuen uns auf den Austausch und einen netten Abend mit euch.

Habt Ihr Lust gemeinsam beide Teams anzufeuern und Poutine mit kanadischem Bier zu genießen?

DKG Walk & Talk am Samstag, 25. Mai 2019 ab 11 Uhr
Die Regionalgruppe Aachen der Deutsch-Kanadischen Gesellschaft und der Kanadatreff Aachen laden am Samstag, 25. Mai um 11:30 Uhr zum Walk & Talk ein. Treffpunkt ist die Bushaltestelle Augustinerweg (Linie 14, zu erreichen von Aachen Hbf sowie von Aachen Bushof. In unmittelbarer Umgebung gibt es auch einen Parkplatz.
Die 6,2km lange Wanderung führt streckenweise über naturbelassene Pfade und Wege. Es ist daher ratsam, festes Schuhwerk und der Witterung angemessene Kleidung zu tragen. Wir benötigen ca. 1,5 -2 Stunden und kehren danach gegen 13 – 13:30 Uhr im Café des ,,belgisch-deutschen Verein KuKuK – Kunst und Kultur im Köpfchen“ ein. Unser Weg führt uns vorbei an Zeitzeugen wie der Höckerlinie, knorrigen Buchenreihen und Zyklopensteinen. In ungezwungener und lockerer Umgebung haben wir Zeit uns auszutauschen, neue Ideen zu sammeln und Pläne zu schmieden. Je nach Wetterlage können wir uns im Café des KuKuK, im ehemaligen deutsch-belgischen Zollhaus, bei Kaffee, Kuchen und kleiner Küche aufwärmen oder erfrischen. Wir bitten um baldmögliche Anmeldung bis zum 10. Mai damit wir ggfs. einen Tisch reservieren können.

Um eine gute Planung zu ermöglichen, würden wir auch eine WhatsApp-Gruppe erstellen, in dem man sich untereinander auch schon vorher austauschen kann, um somit mögliche Fahrgemeinschaften zu organisieren oder andere offene Fragen klären kann. Kanadisches Wochenende der Deutsch-Kanadischen Gesellschaft in Lahr
vom 05. bis 07. Juli 2019
Den Ehrenpreis für besonderes Engagement um die deutsch-kanadischen Beziehungen haben wir beim DKG-Jahrestreffen 2018 an die Bürger der Stadt Lahr verliehen. Auf Einladung der Stadt Lahr werden wir 2019 im historisch und kulturell von den engen Beziehungen zu Kanadiern vor Ort und Kanadiern in ihrer Partnerstadt Belleville, Ontario, geprägten Little Canada feiern. Wir laden alle DKG-Mitglieder und KanadafreundInnen zu diesem besonderen Jahresfest ein.
Freitag, 05. Juli
Traditionelles „Get Together“ – ein lockerer und geselliger Einstieg in das Wochenende, das dieses Mal im Gasthaus Grüner Baum stattfinden wird.
Samstag, 06. Juli
Für den Samstagvormittag bieten wir Aktivitäten mit regionalem und kanadischem Bezug. Ob es eher eine Führung in den umliegenden Weinbergen oder in der Stadt auf den Spuren der Kanadier sein darf, entscheiden Sie individuell. Am Nachmittag treffen wir uns zur Mitgliederversammlung. Der Höhepunkt des Wochenendes wird unser Festakt sein, den wir im historischen Haus zum Pflug im Herzen der Stadt begehen werden. Neben der Verleihung des DKG-Ehrenpreises, können Sie gespannt sein auf einen musikalischen und humorvollen Abend aus kanadischen und Schwarzwälder Komponenten. Der spektakuläre Abschluss dieses Abends wird ein Lichterfest mit Feuerwerk im Stadtpark sein, der nur wenige Gehminuten von unserem Veranstaltungsort entfernt liegt.

In der Orangerie des Stadtparks erwartet Sie am Sonntagvormittag ein Empfang der Stadt Lahr.

Join friends old and new in McGill’s ‚takeover‘ of the oldest „university city“ in Germany. Events include a tour of the fascinating old Universitätsstadt of Heidelberg, and Saturday dinner at the historical Ritterstube zum Ritter St. Georg in the Old City.

Members and Canada Lovers as well as Canadians are heartily welcome to join our convival meeting while enjoying beer and also delicious Food at the Irish Pub Hegarty´s. It’s the ice hockey World Cup live on the big screen!
Let’s come together, enjoy some poutine, Canadian beer and a good game.

DKG Walk & Talk in Aachen on May 25, 2019 at 11:30 am
The Regional Group Aachen of the German Canadian Association and the Kanadatreff Aachen invite you to walk & talk on Saturday, May 25 at 11:30 am. Our meeting point is the bus stop Augustinerweg (line 14, reachable via Aachen Hbf and Aachen Bushof). There is also a parking lot in immediate vacinity.
The 6,2km long hike leads in parts along natural trails and paths. It is therefore advisable to wear sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. We need approx. 1.5 -2 hours and then stop at the café of the „Belgian-German association KuKuK – Kunst und Kultur im Köpfchen“ around 13 – 13:30 pm. Our way leads us past contemporary witnesses such as the hump line, gnarled rows of beech trees and cyclopean stones. In an informal and relaxed environment we have time to exchange ideas, collect new ideas and make plans. Depending on the weather, we can warm up or refresh ourselves in the Café des KuKuK, in the former German-Belgian customs house, with coffee, cake and small kitchen. Please register as soon as possible until May 10 so that we can reserve a table if necessary.

Canadian Weekend arranged by the German-Canadian Association (DKG) in Lahr
from July 5 until 7, 2019
The honorary award for special engagement concerning the German-Canadian relationships was given to the citizens of Lahr during the annual meeting of the DKG in 2018 in Cologne. At the invitation of the city of Lahr we are going to celebrate the Canadian weekend in „Little Canada“ this year, as Lahr is dominated by historical and cultural connections to Canadians on-site as well as to Canadians in their twinning to Belleville, Ontario. We invite all members of the German-Canadian Association and all Canada Lovers and Canadians to this special annual event.

For the Saturday morning we have activities with regional and canadian content. You individually decide if it will be either a guided tour in the surrounding vineyards or a tour on the tracks of the Canadians. In the afternoon we will meet for our annual meeting of the members. The highlight will be our ceremony at the historical „Haus zum Pflug“ in the heart of the city of Lahr. Beside the awarding of the honorary price of the DKG, you can be curious about our evening filled with musical and humorous components from the Black Forrest as well as from Canada. The spectacular final will be a light festival with fireworks in the Stadtpark, which is just a few footsteps away from the location.
